Please be advised that every state, including the State of Florida, statutorily prescribes time limits during which a legal action must be commenced.  These time limits are statutory, and vary from state to state.  In some instances, these time provisions can be as short as one year from the time of wrong doing.  Where public entity defendants are involved, this time period may even be shorter.  For example, in Florida, personal injury actions must be instituted within two years from the date a reasonable person should have discovered the defendant’s wrongdoing. Medical negligence actions may be required to be filed in as little as one year from the date of wrongful conduct. Where public entity defendants are involved, a government claim must be instituted within six months of the date of wrongdoing or suit may be barred.  Again, these time limits vary between states.

Accordingly, during this interim review period, you must take any and all steps necessary in order to protect your ability to bring suit.  In the event Bernstein & Maryanoff needs further documentation regarding your claim, you can expect contact within several days.  It is likely that you will be requested to provide a narrative regarding the circumstances regarding your action.  Medical records, police reports, and other documentation may also be requested from you.
